Replaced the pedal switch just to rule it out. Made no difference. Yes, this does have the 4 pin connector between the pedal switch and harness. Working on tracing the green wire now.

JohnnieB you're the man! I went through every wire on the harness and by chance I happened to press the pedal while I was messing around with the wires near that inline connector you mentioned and the solenoid engaged and the cart moved forward. Looking into it further I found that when I put pressure on the inline connector a specific way, everything would engage and function normally. Disassembled the connector, cleaned and reshaped the contacts. Now it works like a charm. I appreciate the thorough info as it lead me to finding the problem. After 3 days of testing voltage, etc. and racking my brain, I owe you many thanks. You are a guru!

Could be either side of the harness so just cut the plug out and splice it preferably with solder and heat shrink

Hard wired those wires and still same thing. If I pull off the black wire in the pedal switch box and put it back on it will jump foward and still no reverse. ?

It would have been best to have started a new thread instead of hijacking this one since the original poster has a modified cart with an XCT controller and you have a stock cart with a Curtis 1206HB (stock) controller, and your cart's symptoms are different.

Your cart appears to have at least two problems, or a bad controller.

1. The black wire in the pedal box is the ITS (throttle) signal to the controller and is not effected by direction of cart travel nor does it have any effect on determining the direction of cart travel.

2. No reverse is either the controller isn't being told which direction to send amps through the field windings, or it is being told and isn't doing what it is being told to do.

Attached is a service manual for a TXT-48. Page E-10 tells how to check the ITS sensor.

Also attached are a schematic and a wiring diagram for the manual. When in Forward, you should nave full battery pack voltage on Pin-8 and in Reverse it should be on Pin-16.

If both of those check out okay, your controller might be bad. Someone with the handheld programming tool can access the error codes and make a more accurate determination of the controller's health.
