Re: d&d motor noise?
Something was very wrong there! I would send it back to D&D and ask them to do Failure Analysis. It is cooked big time! The field windings should not get cooked like that.

Re: d&d motor noise?
Better to rebuild this or just buy a new one?
What one would match up to what I had? (ddmotorsystems.com/Yam.php) |

Re: d&d motor noise?
How long have you had it? I can't remember if D&D has a 12 or 18 month warranty on their motors. I'd definitely call them before sending it somewhere else to be rebuilt. They may be able to take care of it on the cheap.

Re: d&d motor noise?
Not sure why the field windings would get cooked like that. Should not happen.

Re: d&d motor noise?
D&D failure with pictures. Hmm - maybe I wasn't lying >
http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...-motors-3.html Honestly you have to be careful if you are going to push the outer limits of the motor's performance. I strongly suggest a temp sensor installed on the motor. When you get it back. And pay close attention to controller programming and excessive field weakening. The motors get so hot the glue that holds the pieces in close tolerance to each other softens and weakens. |

Re: d&d motor noise?
I did the motor and controller in march, this cart seen 8 campgrounds where you go 5-10 mph for a weekend. And maybe 20 times over 20mph held wide open for a city block.
So I'm not sure what happened. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Re: d&d motor noise?
Strange. I got mine directly from them a year ago and they were very helpful and nice to work with.
