Default Rear Seat Hitch

How sturdy are the hitches that mount to the rear seat foot support? I want to be able to tow my 5x10 utility trailer around the yard.

Well the hitch will probably hold but it is only one part of the equation. Meaning the hitch is attached to the body which is supported by the leaf springs.... and then there's the question of moving that weight with a 36v cart. You could end up burning up/ breaking something without addressing all the affected components first.

Well it's not actually attached to the frame. It is designed to mount to the rear seat foot support. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with these types of hitches. As for the ability to pull it, I would be pulling little to no hills and light loads. Nothing like you see here from Alltrax.

IDK nosaj2. Depending on how it's built, a 5x10 trailer can be pretty heavy.

As far as the footrest hitch, do a little research in here. There was a thread in here a while back about it.

Rolling weight is one thing but tongue weight is another. Those hitches work with light tongue weights but I be worried about bending something.

I'll have to agree with kgsc. Also, I have a 5x8 trailer and I don't think I would consider pulling it with a golf cart--loaded or not.

I have that type of hitch you are talking about and it is fine, the deck is bolted to the frame so pulling shouldn't be a problem, just watch your tongue weight and keep an eye on the motor temp the first few times.

I agree with Hypersprint. I pull a 5X8 trailer around the yard on occasion without flexing the footrest.

Mines a gas cart but i was pulling around a waverunner this weekend with no issues. I'm also building another trailer for pulling couple more people. And I have a 4x8 utility trailer I load up pretty heavy and haven't had any problems. This is all on a hitch that's not even bolted to the foot rest. I'm guessing the foot rest would give it more strength
