Default Double checking solenoid wiring

I want to first of all thank everyone for a great community. I have learned quite a bit just reading all the previous posts.

I have a 2002 EZGO TXT PDS
I purchased the XCT500PDS kit from scottyb with the 400a solenoid.
I hooked everything up and it runs like a champ. But there are some things I want to make sure I did correctly. On the solenoid, on the large posts I have just 1 large wire to each and the diode that came in the kit (stripe towards the positive). On the small posts there is just a yellow wire on one and a blue wire on the other.

I have no other diodes or resistors wired into the solenoid. Is this correct?

On a side note, I couldn't find a ground for the battery meter, so I ran a cable back to the battery. Is there one somewhere in the dash?

Is this what you have?

On the ground, there wasn't any ground wires behind my dash either. I ran one from the pack. Never ground the battery pack to the frame.

You have it wired correctly. There is only one large diode that goes on the large terminals.

The DIODE should be wired to the SMALL solenoid posts as per the photo the ARKSoft84 supplied. If the DIODE is wired to the LARGE solenoid posts, you are wired INCORRECTLY !!

Yes that is what I have and the picture scottyb supplied. But the I saw information like ThreeCW that made me second guess. But the supplied diode had extremely large ring terminals so it only makes sense to put on the large terminals.

Thanks ARKSoft84.

This is incorrect advice for the Alltrax AXCT controller you have. You have installed the big regen diode as shown and that is all that should be on the solenoid with the XCT controller.

Running the DVM negative wire to the battery pack is also the correct way to power the meter.
How is the cart performance now?

Thanks Scotty.I was trying to give you a break over the weekend. The cart is amazing. I bought the cart for $500 and it turns out I made an amazing purchase. Your upgrade bundle has made it quite a bit of fun to ride. Thank you so much for all your help.

Sorry for the confusion. I was referring to a situation that uses a Contactor Coil DIODE ... you are referring to a Regen DIODE. I stand corrected ... and will go back to my cave now.

I made the exact same error, a few weeks ago. Guess I can crawl out of my cave now?
