full speed ahead

My 2000 TXT EZGO cart runs at full speed in forward and reverse nothing in between. Where should I look for my problem? The Inductive throttle control sensor did get flooded / submerged. I dried out and cat still runs at full speed in forward and reverse no matter the foot pressure or pedal depression.

Follow the cable that goes from the throttle box to the wiring harness (under the cart). There should be 4 wire Molex connector. Disconnect it and spray it with contact cleaner, then plug/unplug/plug, to clean the contacts. If your throttle box got wet, this connector likely got wet.

Thanks much, I will try next time I visit my 90 year old Mother-In-Law in SC. I had thought it may be the Inductive Throttle Sensor that's compartment was full of water, but will try your suggestion first. Cart got flooded during hurricane and sat in 20"s of water.

It's possible the ITS did get damaged, while submerged. They often get wet, but usually recover after drying out. I'm not sure about extended amount of time being totally submerged.

Did the controller also get wet? Hard to imagine it not having gotten wet with 20" of water. If it's stock, you may try prying the cover off and if there's any sign of water having entered, rinse with distilled water, maybe hit the back of the board with a toothbrush. Be careful when disassembling it. My series had a small set of wires, that I assume were for a temperature probe. Fragile.

Most electronics do OK if they get wet and dry off. A hurricane flood may not be pure rain water, but a mix of salt water as well.
