Re: Cart runs for minute.
I don't know where the solenoid is located and can't seem to find any previous post about the location of it.

Re: Cart runs for minute.
Either the solenoid or its wiring is bad. If not, then it it's the controller. The solenoid is located behind the aluminum plate in the battery compartment. To access it remove the two middle batteries and the one screw on top of the plate and fold it down. Since it went in the water you might get lucky and just clean it up inside. Post a picture if you can. PS Getting at the solenoid isn't as easy as I made it sound, but you can do it

Re: Cart runs for minute.
You can also get to the solenoid from underneath. There is a plastic cover that pops right off. The controller is under there as well.

Re: Cart runs for minute.
Since You said both the MCOR and Controller have already been replaced, I was assuming for now that they are working.
Unfortunately the micro-switch inside the MCOR is not the only "interlock" needed to activate the Solenoid, the throttle signal also needs to be in the right range before the Controller will activate the Solenoid. The Excel harness has some resistors in the throttle wires that could have corroded or water logged (if they are carbon composite). Since it is hard to get to those as well, I would suggest testing the Solenoid itself or the activation wires from behind the cart to see if the Controller is sending the signal. This is how You get to the Electronics: This shows the Solenoid (#5): Please note the tabs on the Solenoid are of different size: 1/4" and 3/16". Set You meter to 200v DC scale. Disconnect the 2 quick connector tabs from the Solenoid and put your meter probes on the wires. You should get +48v (pack voltage) when You press the Pedal. If You do, replace the Solenoid. PS: How did You change the Controller but don't know where the Solenoid is located? |

Re: Cart runs for minute.
Thank you Sergio for the diagrams of the solenoid. Can you tell me where to find the part description that correspond with the numbers on the chart. This has been very helpful. Thank you

Re: Cart runs for minute.
I don't have a picture of the text that talks about those reference numbers, but:
Pre-charger resistor = #1 |

Re: Cart runs for minute.
Replaced the solenoid and cart seems to work ok now. I do have a question though. Can a 400 amp controller cause the 200 amp solenoid to go bad. I replaced with a 400 amp solenoid just in case, but was wondering if thats why the cart worked for a little while after I installed the 400 amp controller.
