I can’t wait. That would be a wonderful addition.

From what I understand the Navitas control allows the user to adjust the motor field current varying the amount of torque or speed produced. This is a good idea in the hands of an engineer. When mis-used the motor suffers catastrophically.
I was curious about this statement. This is what I received from their spokesperson:

“You are correct a user with too much access to a controllers settings can cause problems. More to the motor and wires than the controller itself. Navitas limits the access by having levels of access.
1. OTF On The Fly programmer,
2. End User Bluetooth app,
3. Dealer level Bluetooth app,
4 OEM level Bluetooth,
5 Engineering level Bluetooth app.”

To be fair I only hear from people who have problems. I'm sure many people are enjoying their Navitas controllers. The situation I hear about is where a street mode is used in an off road hill situation resulting in a motor loss.
Given the option to choose, it seems pretty easy for a driver to overlook or forget what mode they are in. Most people have no idea what stresses the components or causes excessive amp draw and unwanted component heat. Which is why implementing some level of safe guards is important. Alltrax's 3 mode FN device does not make changes to the field mapping.

In addition to all of the valid points made in this thread, I'd like to add that if there is ever an issue with an Alltrax controller, their technical support team is second to none. I can't speak for Navitas, as I am not a dealer for them, but the Alltrax team is amazing.

Yes Sir those guys at Alltrax are the best. sincerly i am impressed with the high level of professional response we always receive.
However our redneck cowboys down here do love having knobs to turn & the Navitas fulfills their fantasy. We do our best to instruct them on the correct method to use this system, guess how that is working, not too good.

I am about to buy a 500map controller and wouldn't mind BT!

What's the bet on when Alltrax comes out with BT?

I have mostly MAC stuff, I hope they would come out with some iOS stuff. BT would be cool.
