48 volt motor

What would happen if I drop a 48 volt motor into my 92 36 volt cart without changing anything else? Would it run still?

I am guessing the 36v cart would have a series wound motor with a series controller or it is a resister cart without a controller and the 48v motor would be sepex/shunt wound motor which would require a sepex controller (unless navitas or other aftermarket controller which can do either).

Look at the terminal labels on both motors and see if the 48v has terminals labeled A1 A2 F1 F2 and the 36v probably has A1 A2 F1 F2, if so, they are not compatible.
