Admiral MOT-B2 vs MOT-B4
I just finished upgrading my 04 EZGO PDS to the Alltrax 400, 48v solenoid, 2 gauge cables, and 6 8V Trojans. I know the original 36v DE2-4007 motor will have a short life ahead of it. I ride flat surfaces around the neighborhood only. I see a lot of comments on the Admiral MOT-B2 (all seem to love the motor) but I was wondering if the Admiral MOT-B4 would be a good option also. Would there be an advantage of getting the B4 over the B2 or not really since I do live on the coast and it is flat roads?
I don't see a reason to keep the factory motor and destroying it when I am already this far in from having a completed cart. I do have a 6" lift and 22" tires. |

I agree - remove the stock motor while it is still work some money. Can't answer your question as I have not run the B4 motor yet.

I was hoping you might had run it. Maybe someone has experience. If not, I’ll be talking to you about the B2.

Re: Admiral MOT-B2 vs MOT-B4
The 22" tire lops off about 18% of the available torque where rubber meets road, but either motor will up the available torque by enough, or more, to offset the loss.
The cart's top speed will be a bit higher with the B2 (29MPH vs 25MPH), but a lifted 2004 TXT is going to be a bit of a wild bronco much over 20MPH. Of course, with a XCT controller, the top speed can be limited, so that isn't much of an issue. If the cart in your avatar is the one, it has a rear seat and if you routinely carry 3 or 4 people on cart, the higher torque of the B4 might come in handy. You're have much a win-win choice with the B2 vs B4. ------------- I see Scotty beat me to the send button. |

Re: Admiral MOT-B2 vs MOT-B4
I have actually never carried anyone on the back. Mother in Law doesn’t trust me. I have two little ones that aren’t big enough to compare to one those batteries.
I think maybe the B2 is right way to go. I will add the long arm kit in the future to help the ride or so I hope. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Re: Admiral MOT-B2 vs MOT-B4
I would say generally the B2 has really good reviews with 48v and the XCT400. The B4 would be a better match for the XCT500 controller. Bigger isn't always the best fit.

Re: Admiral MOT-B2 vs MOT-B4
I didn’t think about that. I will defiantly be getting the B2 now.
