Default Brake cables

I have a 2005 CC Precedent that needs brake cables. After I pulled the floor mate and the inspection plate I can see the cables and the retainer clips. What do you use to compress the retainer clips. I can hardly get my hand a set of pliers in there. Any suggestions. Is there a special tool for this?

Is it the kind with three prongs that stick out?
A hose clamp works good for those. Tighten it just enough to compress the prongs and give the cable a good tug and it should pull out of the bracket and the clamp should slide off.

The older carts used e-clips and those just pop off with a flat blade screwdriver most of the time.

Amazon sells the tool for this but it $60. plus. I also used the hose clamp method that fairtax uses but found it awkward to tighten it. I took a 5" piece of 1/2" steel conduit and peened the end in to make it a smaller inside diameter so it just cleared the end of the cable then pushed a little harder to close the prongs, then pull out the cable. Works great.

Thanks Fairax4me an HarryT.
I thought about a hose clamp but my hands a not what they used to be. Because of the small area to work in I think I would have a hard time tighten it up. I do not work on a lot of CC Precedent mostly DS models. I like the idea of the 1/2" conduit. I think that would work better for me.
