Default Ezgo RXV intermittent scrubbing noise in rear end

I recently purchased a 2014 48v Ezgo rxv. I have a intermittent scrubbing noise coming from the rear end area. It seems to go away or be less noticeable at full throttle. I have read several posts and they all seem to point to the input shaft and bearings. I haven’t found a clear procedure for replacing this shaft and bearings. I would be appreciative for any guidance on this or another opinion on what this this problem could be. I have also found a service and repair manual but is there a shop manual a available? Thank you

A couple of questions. Does the cart have a back seat? Does the noise occur with passengers on the back but not when empty? Light kit on the cart? Larger than stock tires?

Statistically speaking I believe it is more likely to be rear wheel bearings than the input shaft.

The cart doesn’t have a rear seat. It has small tires and tail lights.

OK, then if it were me, I would investigate rear wheel bearings first before taking off the motor and tearing into the diff.

Also any chance you or someone else changed the diff fluid lately? I ask because electric RXV's have a limited slip diff and if you don't add friction modifier in with the oil the diff might make strange noises.

Trying to cover all the bases as the input shaft is a big repair, at least for me.

The people I bought it from hasn’t done anything to the cart but change batteries recently. I will jack the rear end of the cart up and check the bearings. So you would recommend changing rear end fluid?

The manual calls for every five years.

Ok. Thanks! What type does the manual recommend?

I know it doesnt say "Ezgo" on the label, but I work at a yamaha & ezgo dealer and this is what I use. Its convenient for me to stock because it works in everything & already has the friction modifier that some ezgo & yamaha axles require (like your rxv). Yours holds 739cc, or 25oz of fluid.

And as far as "what does the manual specify?", well, that's the funny part, several different things have been specified over the years, and this fits into those categories just fine.
