Default Tires rubbing nerf bar mount

I have a 2017 Precedent with a 6 inch lift and 23 inch tires. I installed the MadJax nerf bar with step. When turning when any degree of sharpness the tire will rub the mount the goes over the frame. Has anyone else run into this issue? Any solutions?

I had this same problem on my Precedent and added wheel spacers. Can't remember if they were 3/4" or 1", but it fixed the problem.

Thanks, I was wondering if spacers might solve the problem. Definitely gonna need fender flares with those, lol

A lot of accessories are designed and/or built using a stock base. I could have said add spacers but you shouldn't have to add anything to a quality accessory or it should have come with them or stated that it was needed somewhere.

Like " This lift kit will only work with 10" rim"

Here are some pictures of mine to make sure we are talking about the same thing. I did add fender flares. I used to have 14" wheels and 24" tires, but I hated how they rode, basically ATV tires.

I think once the wheel spacers are installed, It will actually rotate the tire further back when turned.
You might need to locate the whole lift assy. forward to clear.
Or move the nerf bar back just a little.

Thanks @brownstevend, that is what is happening. Did the spacers make a difference or was it the smaller tire that fixed it.

Crash, I was wondering the same thing and also if the spacers would cause the tire to hit the finder now as well. Thinking of adding defender flares and cutting away clearance on the finders. I already hate how close the lift makes the rear tires to the plastic.

I actually looks as if the tire was rubbing the frame behind the bar mount prior to installation.
Maybe the spacer will move the contact point behind the U-bolt?
