Default Clicking noise from motor

This cart is a fresh buy so dont know much about it.

Its weird...its actually a TXT body, but the motor and differential is Club Car.

I had to rewire the whole thing, put a controller in it (used stock TXT) and solenoid. Everything basically.

Its rolling now fine, but when its running, their is a clicking sound coming from motor area. Its not the solenoid.

I am pretty sure it only does it when I have the pedal engaged...I will confirm this.

Its an old series motor...the one that has the 4 posts in a line.

What do I need to inspect to alleviate this clicking noise.

Sure it's not bearings going out? They will make a clicking sound as they go out...

Is the motor tight to the gear housing? A slight gab can make the motor uneven making the armature rub.

Try checking the drums to see if a spring broke or needs cleaning. Also might sound crazy but I had a similar noise when cart was moving down the road and turned out to be a small pebble inside the tire. Not sure how it got there but it was annoying click noise that I thought was the motor or the rear end. I found It after I removed the tire and put on a new tire.

I would Jack it up and check out the condition inside the drums. Could also be a wheel bearing as others said which will start out as a small click then start clunking when it gets worse. Also a small rock stuck in the tire tread will make a click noise down the road. Start with the easy stuff first then move to the motor/differential.

This was it...the pads fell out when I pulled the drum off!
