Which aftermarket motor should I get?
I have a 2002 Club Car DS IQ 48V (serial AQ0247-226994). Installed on it currently is an Alltrax XCT-400, 200A solenoid, and 2G battery cables. The cart is lifted 6” with large tires on it. I drive on the pavement 90% of the time. My son was driving the cart last week and it stopped running. Solenoid is fine. I’m pretty sure that the stock motor just died and so I’m in the market for a new one. Stock motor: Club Car P/N: 102240102, Model #: 5BC59JBS6365, HP: 3.2 special service.
My stock motor was able to get me a max of 26/27 mph. I wouldn’t mind going a little faster but honestly as long as I can get to that speed I’m good. What motor do you guys recommend that’s a direct fit replacement that I can do myself and that’s available for purchase right now. Thanks in advance. |

Re: Which aftermarket motor should I get?
I would test the motor first before jumping to the conclusion that the motor has failed. ALso, load the Alltrax software and connect to it to find out what is at fault. All of the inputs are shown in the Alltrax program and you can tell if the motor is getting voltage.
There are threads here on how to test a sepex motor. |

Re: Which aftermarket motor should I get?
BIG tires, Stock motor, son driving.... looks like a formula for a motor failure to me
Test the motor for unwanted continuity (aka a short) by disconnecting it and checking for continuity between the terminals. There should be continuity between the 2 A terminals and the 2 F terminals but no continuity between any A and any F terminals and no continuity between any terminal and the frame. |
