2006 ds mcor issue with accelerator rod?
I've got this Club Car DS that drove nice and fast, but it's been through two MCOR's in the last year or so. Turns out the accelerator to MCOR rod linkage was disconnected, and rigged up so it pushed the MCOR over further to make it go fast. So not really realizing this, when I swapped the MCOR, i set the rod and linkage the way it's supposed to, if any of ya'll are familiar with that.
Now it drives SUPER slow... Think maybe that rod needs to be replaced? Not sure what to do with it. |

I typically use Mcors in carts that we upgrade from resistor carts to solid state. Not sure what you are adjusting. Can you post a pic?

Re: 2006 ds mcor issue with accelerator rod?
no i don't have pics.
So there's the Accelerator Pivot arm that twists the MCOR drive bar which actuates the MCOR. where the pivot arm connects to the drive bar, it was disconnected and set on top of the drive bar in a manner that it would twist the drive bar further, over extending the MCOR sensor to make the car go faster... So I connected the arm and bar the way it's supposed to go and now the cart is ridiculously slow. If maybe I replace that drive bar, it would work better. I didn't notice, but maybe the splines on the end are no good... Here's a link to the two items: https://jasonsgolfcarts.com/product/...RoC7zcQAvD_BwE https://jasonsgolfcarts.com/product/...BoCR5gQAvD_BwE |

The fork end of the drive bar is supposed to straddle the upright of the accelerator pedal which is adjustable. if the pedal is placed too far forward the pedal will hit the floor before turning the MCOR to full engagement which would cause the cart to be slow.

/\ /\ what he said. There is some adjustment in the pedal but not in the rod.
If it is an older cart and has the original accl rod it may not have a nipple on the end where the mcor rod straddles the pedal. This will cause the mcor rod to be sloppy |

Re: 2006 ds mcor issue with accelerator rod?
Often this is because of wear to the rod, usually the upper pin that sticks out that the pedal pushes against. Replacing the rod usually helps, but the simpler/easier option is to put a zip tie or a small piece of fuel hose over the pin to take up the space between the pedal and the pin.
If you replace the rod you should also replace the pivot blocks for the pedal since those tend to wear and cause slop in the pedal that will prevent the pedal from pushing the MCOR rod all the way. |
