What do I do now!
I bought a 1986 Club Car DS that had been a 36v cart that previous owner had removed EVERYTHING ELECTRICAL including burned up motor! He planned on installing gas engine but lost interest before hacking up the cart! What do I do now! I’m needing any thoughts or ideas on turning this into just a good reliable cruiser. Thanks!

We are the same guys in each section, lithium or lead acid, just smarter in some ways and dumber in others!

A blank canvas CC DS is a fun project. 1986 was a transition year so pull the motor and see if it has 10 or 16 splines on the motor coupler. 10 spline matches modern day aftermarket motors. A 10 spline coupler opens a lot of options.
Our latest option for 10 spline DS models is the IQ conversion. This kit is plug and play with a complete wiring harness and 10 or 14 hp Admiral motor options. |

I did Scotty's IQ conversion in an 89 Club Carryall. Very good setup and the 10HP admiral Motor is great. Cart is a lot faster and more torque up the hills. I am glad I did it so that all the parts work together. Will probably try the Eco lithium battery when my lead acid batteries start to go bad.
