Question 04 ds 48volt charger won't shut off

Batteries one year old. Each one reading 8.5 volts. Battery pack 54.2 Load tested each one read GOOD Charger is factory. Left on all night (9hrs) batteries are warm smell a little ..gurgling...cables are good, connections are clean. Charger shows 5 amps, but not going down, and does not shut off. Not sure what to do next! Thank You in advance for tech help on this one.

I have an 04 DS IQ and my charger would not turn off either. It finally did at approximately 59v at the pack while the charger was connected.

Wait longer. Sounds to me like the pack is still low, but we don’t know based on the numbers you gave. Surface charge on the batteries takes about 12 hours to settle off so anything you checked right after unplugging the charger is inaccurate and doesn’t tell us much.
If you’re checking voltage with the charger still running then those numbers are still low.

Thank You Sir. Absolutely correct....left it on 5 more hours, and it finally shut off. All is good!
