Re: 1995 Medalist Rebuild
david, the posi came from plowman-a sponsor. it only fits carts that have the large carrier and pinion gears. i think ezgo went to this size about 99. my 98 had the small carrier so i located a cracked pds (later model) rear end and just used the carrier and gears from it. everything in diff.is exactly the same except for those items.
the actual instal is a snap. you just remove the cover, unbolt and take out the carrier assy. pull the pinions, dress up the inner faces of the large pinions and reassemble with locker assy. then you release the two sides of the spring loaded posi. put back in the cart. seems to work fine. is does work, but beware without aggressive tires you will still get stuck in mud! |

Re: 1995 Medalist Rebuild
Madoc, Thanks for the info. I guess I willbe keeping my eye out for a rear end. I am not in a hurry though. I still have plenty to do to my cart. Thanks again.

Re: 1995 Medalist Rebuild
Here are a few pics of my progress. I soldered the cables myself. I have removed the lights and the little hitch thing from the rear of the golf cart. The tires are 22"x11"x10"s that my neighbor had laying around. They make the cart look pretty mean from the back. I have since sprayed 4 coats of undercoating on the battery rack. I still have some stuff left to do, but I just wanted to post a few pics of the progress.

Re: 1995 Medalist Rebuild
Thanks, Madoc. It makes it easy to access everything. I should have her up and running this next time I am home. I won't have much time to work on it though. I will be doing Thanksgiving and then my daughter and I are going to the deer camp. After that I have two days home and the a week at Disneyworld. My two weeks are kid of taken up this next time home. I hope to put the batteries and the key switch in the two days that I have available. At least I could drive it before I come back to work.

Re: 1995 Medalist Rebuild
Well I got my cart completely functional just after Christmas. I still need to order my Lift and wheels. I will be covering the seats with a dark browm marine grade vinyl. I put a rattle can Camoflauge job on it. The kids love it and so do I. I can't wait to use it at the hunting camp. For now we are tearing up the hills and trails around my house and playing golf cart and ATV hide and seek at my dad's. I will probably be upgrading my motor and or changing the gears in the rear end to 15:1 to help out with the 26" tires that I will be putting on it. I will post some pics tomorrow as I have not yet taken any since it has been up and running.

Re: 1995 Medalist Rebuild
coming along nice. I tried to solder my own cables and even though I like to think I can do about anything....my patience ran out just before my last extra practice lug. Nice job on your cables, they look great.
