Swapping controller from EZGO to CC
I have post in Club Car section about cart slowing to a crawl. I think it is in controller/throttle. I'm not positive, so if you have advice it would be appreciated.
My question here is, can I swap my PB_6 0-5k AND logisystems 700a controller to the Club Car. Both are series carts. i know CC uses a 5k-0 input, but if I swap both controller and potbox I should be good to go???? Right?? |

Re: Swapping controller from EZGO to CC
yes, BUT if you switch the wires inside the CC's PB-6 it'll be 0-5K. They'll do both depending on how they are wired internally.
*edit He doesn't have a PB-6 on his CC so it can't be switched. |

Re: Swapping controller from EZGO to CC
My CC is a 2003 DS series. I think the throttle is a MCOR. It looks nothing like my PB-6 on EZGO. CC throttle control under floor with a rectangular shaped casing.
I have replaced all the electronics on my ezgo but am in unfamiliar territtory with CC. Sorry if I can't descibe correctly. |

Re: Swapping controller from EZGO to CC
you could also find a 0-5K CC throttle. It won't be an MCOR, it'll look like the Vglide switch so you would have to swap in the right parts to make it work.
95 & Older (all 92, some 93, 95 & 96 cars) use 0-5K Black Curtis controller w/Black & White-2 Wires to Throttle. Thats a multi-step pot type. Heres some more info about the CC's multi-step pot if you need it. |

Re: Swapping controller from EZGO to CC
The MCOR has a pot in it but you have to destroy the housing to get to it
Mike how are you going to get the gas peddle to operate the pot(PB-6)? I think if you crawl under the 2001 CC with a good pair of channel locks and crimp down on the aluminum throttle linkage where it connects to the MCOR pivot.... you can tighten chit up. Maybe get it working again? Tdawg will know for sure, but I have had some luck doing that. |

Re: Swapping controller from EZGO to CC
Scotty, is there any reason he can't use the older throttle parts from a 0-5k pot Club car to do the swap? At least that way its all store bought and no fabricating. I wonder if it has the holes in the frame for the vglide type switch? If it does then its an easy swap.
(everyone calls it a vglide, its NOT a vglide. Vglide is what CC called their resistor carts throttle. The later boxes look like a vglide but the internals are different.) |

Re: Swapping controller from EZGO to CC
Yeah, it's called a multi-step potentiometer.... so Multistep is the accepted terminology at the CC dealer.
The throttle is not setup to operate the multistep. It just goes to the passenger side of the floor board with a twisting action..... the MCOR is a good pot, the linkage is weak..... might be his problem. linkage. |

. Just for giggle why can't the whole throttle assembly be replaced with the older 0-5K throttle units? Shafts and all. Just asking. I know looking at my 88 CC and my 98 CC (I think) The frames and everything looks the same. Both stock, neither have MCOR though. |

Re: Swapping controller from EZGO to CC
SO how exactly do I confirm it is the linkage. Scotty you read my readings from throttle on CC post. What part of linkage to adjust. From looking at throttle earlier today there is a rod that rotates in the "BLACK BOX" so I am confused about adjustment? Where to adjust and how. Thanks for ya'lls help.
