HD 48V solenoid
I'll be purchasing one soon and was wondering whats everyone using. My buddie just picked up a monster from Curtis/Albright model # is SW180B-8. Its rated at 120 amps continuous and 500 amps for 1 minute. It's huge. Any other suggestions?

Re: HD 48V solenoid
Carts Unlimited has a good one if you tell him what you want to do. That one is kind of light weight.

Re: HD 48V solenoid
I'm using a 400a continuous 1000 amp peak (in-rush) Super Duty on the big boys

Re: HD 48V solenoid
what direction do I need to go Scottyb? I seen on your site the mentioning of a 200 continuous/800 peak unit but didn't see it listed seperately. My set-up is as follows. Series motor, speed/torque (which will be sent to PQ to squeeze out more), Alltrax 4855, HD f/r switch, have 4ga. cables now but will be upgrading to 2ga. cables.

Re: HD 48V solenoid
Go with the bigger solenoid that Scotty was just talking about. 400 AMP continous/1000 AMP inrush. It's huge and you pay a bit more but it is well worth the money.
