Default Brakes, oh I dont have any.....

Okay, this is a new cart to me and I know very little about these things. I’m learning new stuff every day, Thx BGW!!!

To the point: My cart’s brakes suck!! Is there an adjustment for them? What’s the best way to check if they need to be replaced? I’m gonna look into them this weekend so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thx

Remove the drum for a visual inspection... note the pad thickness difference between the lower end of the front pad compared to the top end of the rear shoe... This will give you a visual on how much shoe is left. With eye protection on and your mouth closed
Spray brake clean on everything..... use a drip pan to catch the mess...
Check the drum for damage...
Reinstall the drum and torque the castle nut to 100-140 ft pounds...( MUST BE VERY TIGHT!)
Make shoe adjustment thru the hole in the drum at the star adjuster... with the aid of a flashlight. Check cable adjustment at the equalizer, check parking brake operation... and test drive.

Scotty is right, ohwhofarted just had to buy a new drum due to a loose nut/helpful mechanic. If you can't get it tight, don't try to drive it!

You got that right! It's gonna strip if it ain't tight... And tighter is better. So never, NEVER back off an Ezgo axle nut to get the cotter pin in the hole
