Default test for a used charger?

My Powerwise QE charger died and, as I understand it, they are considered a "throwaway" item and can't be repaired. ( shopezgo.com confirmed this and then they wanted $455 plus shipping, etc for a new one). Found one of the old type, that looks good, for about a third of that but I need to drive 75 miles to get it.

My question is, is there any way to test the charger, i.e. using a volt/ohm meter, to make sure it is working OK, short of hauling my cart down there with me?

Thanks.

You can buy a protech charger for under $250 new. one of our sponsors, scottyb has a good deal on them, or you can go on E-bay and get a recondition one. The company that makes them will stand behind them too . I have been Happy with mine

I am new on here and would like to know the same thing. My Total Charge was wired up completely different from what the wiring diagram shows so can I test it as was asked above?

There is no quick "test" for a charger... they have to be able to run their full cycle which could take up to 12 hours depending on the condition of the batteries being charged.
