Tripping Breaker
I replaced the batteries in my 1997 EZ Go but the charger keeps popping the breaker. When reset it will charge at 18v, but trips in 10-15 minutes. Perhaps bad diodes? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Re: Tripping Breaker
Which charger do you have? I don't think there is a breaker on the powerwise?

Re: Tripping Breaker
I have the Total Charger III, Model 26984. It has a reset breaker on the front of the unit.

Re: Tripping Breaker
Sorry, I meant 18 amps, not volts.

Re: Tripping Breaker
Okay, it's not the right charger for that cart... I don't know if that would be a problem, but breakers do get weak with repeated tripping.... the charger for that cart is a powerwise and it doesn't have a breaker.

Re: Tripping Breaker
The charger came with the cart. It has 1997 on the charger and I thought that was the year of the cart. It worked with the old batteries and only started tripping after I replaced all the batteries. It will charge for 10-15 minutes and seems to keep the batteries somewhat charged.
Thanks |

Re: Tripping Breaker
Your new batteries need a proper charge. Can you test the charger on another cart? OR try another charger? I'm not sure what year the powerwise charger came out? I thought it was '95?
