Hot batteries, any danger here?
My cart would not go the other day after sitting on charge for several months in garage. The light would come on but not move cart. I checked, the water level in all 6 batts were down below visible level. I filled (with tap water - didn't know about the distilled angle until a few minutes ago). I put back on charge, and all seemed fine. I put cart back in garage yesterday, kept on charge as usual. This morning noticed 'smell' in garage, went to cart and noticed heat coming out of batt compartment. I took it off charge and moved i outside for fear of fire (it ran fine for the brief move). The heat wasn't near combustible levels but was hotter than I had ever seen before.
What should I do at this point? Thanks in advance for your help. |

Re: Hot batteries, any danger here?
reporting back. The water levels are all still high as where I filled them to yesterday. There were two cells that might by half inch or so lower but nearly all are at the level I filled them to.
