Default piston size

i have a 1990 gas par car does anybody know what the standard piston size is and what the clearance is between the piston and the piston skirt is? thanks

2.75" give or take. they will vary slightly.

1981 = piston clearance .006 to .007 ring gap .007 to .003

1989 = piston clearance .004 to .005 ring gap .007 to .023

So take your pick. the 89 is a commercial unit. I would go for the piston around .007 and ring gap .010 or so.

The 81 ring gap should read .007 to .017 (old fingers can't type sometimes)
