1997 Club Car DS Barely moves in Reverse
I have a 1997 Club Car DS that will barely move in reverse and will not on any incline. I mean barely an incline. It is a 36v, gas 3 12v deep cycle battery's. F/R switch replaced, solenoid had been replaced. Replaced the rear axle with a good spare. I have replaced the motor from my other cart and still have the same results. I have read that the reverse requires 18v. Being a series motor I would think that would not matter. Should be able to put 36v in reverse if you wanted. Any suggestions at this point would help. Thanks!!

Re: 1997 Club Car DS Barely moves in Reverse
Yeah you can put whatever voltage you want for reverse.
The reverse voltage goes on one of the bottom lugs on the FnR switch. Follow the cable and see what battery it’s hooked to. You might only be giving 12v in reverse in which case it won’t go anywhere. Move the reverse cable to the same as the main positive, or remove the reverse cable altogether and make a short jumper that connects the bottom lugs together so main power is applied to both lugs. |
