1988 Club cart sparking forward and reverse shifter
Hey there I have a 1988 Cub cart that is sparking at the forward and reverse shifter. Yesterday I replaced it all the solenoids and I put on a new shifter. For the first 4 hours everything ran great then it started driving on its own without my foot on the pedal. I hit the brakes and turned off the cart and lifted my foot off the pedal and it still was trying to go.I had to remove the cord from the batteries to stop it. When I try it again I notice it sparking at the shifter so I shut it down and stop messing with it...

Re: 1988 Club cart sparking forward and reverse shifter
Are you using aftermarket solenoids? If so, that's more than likely your issue. If it worked correctly for a little while it indicates that they are hooked up correctly. Unfortunately, the aftermarket solenoids are not built to last and fail prematurely and cause this issue. The Master solenoid is stuck in the closed position, along with at least one of the others. Replace them all with genuine Club Car solenoids, part number #8016
