HF 420cc clone engine question thread
Hey guys
Now I'm sure there are a million threads talking about these engines, But I would like to start a dedicated thread to these engines where people can get any info they want right in one spot. So, to get the ball...does anyone know the factory camshaft specs for the predator 420? I plan to do a full engine build and before I buy a cam for mine, I would like to know the factory specs as a comparison. Thanks for all of your help clone guru`s! Re: HF 420cc clone engine question thread
The cam info I got when cam-doctoring it is:
Intake Duration : 212 @ .050" Exhaust Duration : 200 @ .050" Intake Lift = .259" Exhaust Lift = .235" 110 LSA The engines have a huge 42cc chamber and only make 8:1 compression but I like the port shape better than the duromaxes. Overall, better engine than the Duromax, but not by much. |

As I should assume, milled and ported head would do the trick.

Re: HF 420cc clone engine question thread
If you plan on keeping the stock rod, mill the head .100" and thatll put you around 10.25:1 and port it. Thats about the best you are going to get out of a stock rod/valvetrain/cam setup.
Good for 91 octane gas. -Geoff |

Swapping everything except piston, crank, and block. Looking to make 30hp on premium pump gas.
If you could make a list of parts from your site that would be great. I already got one of those carbs we talked about. Sent from my VS950 4G using Tapatalk 2 |

Re: HF 420cc clone engine question thread
Billet Rod
SS Valves 1.25:1 Shaft Rockers HD Pushrods Billet Retainers & Locks Dual Valve Springs Ported & Milled head .100" 8 Degree Timing key Torque Cam (246 - .330 - 104LSA) .026" MLS Head Gasket 32mm Intake Manifold You could assemble it with a hole in the piston and still make 30hp. |
