EZGO Gas Input Shaft
On my 1997 EZGO TXT I have noticed a wobble on the driven clutch from side to side. It's a slight wobble, but it's definitely there. I took the clutch off and tightened the bolt and spun the shaft and noticed the bolt does not spin in a concentric circle. The shaft has to be bent slightly. Is there a way to repair this?

Re: EZGO Gas Input Shaft
I had my driven do the same thing, ended up being the splines inside of clutch were worn bad which allowed it to wobble on shaft. Somebody had use the clutch with the hold down bolt broken off. If splines inside clutch are bad, cant be fixed, you need a new part for that.

Re: EZGO Gas Input Shaft
I have ordered a new clutch maybe that will fix the problem. I think it's actually the shaft the clutch goes on though, not 100% sure though until I get the new clutch.

Re: EZGO Gas Input Shaft
Take the clutch off, put it in gear and push it. Watch for your wobble. If it spins true it is the clutch..

Re: EZGO Gas Input Shaft
From the way you describe it it sounds like the shaft also... BUT if the bolt was not tightened down that could be why it shows a off center wobble maybe.
Good luck! |

Re: EZGO Gas Input Shaft
The new clutch is coming in soon. I'm going to replace the bolt also. After thinking about it I just don't see how the shaft could be bent, or how anyone would bend it? How many lbs of torque needed when tightening the clutch bolt?

Re: EZGO Gas Input Shaft
Did you push it with the clutch off?
