Default Re: Unique, Uncommon, Non-Common Key for G29??

I just put a second key on mine. One of those barrel type security keys. I put it inline with the factory key switch and so both must be on to start the cart. So if I'm in a public place I just turn the security key "off" and then if someone tries with a factory key it won't start.

That's a good idea. One of those special type keys that vending machines use is a good idea.

I believe I finally found the right one. Should be delivered the beginning of the week. I'll post the part number if it works.

Guys- any update on the custom on/off key? My wife requested a custom key on her G29 so no-one can just jump in and take off.

I think the hidden 2nd key is a great idea, simple to install... however she may want a custom key....

any links to the parts you found would be helpful.

thanks for the links but these are a bit more than I want to pay, I did find the uncommon key switch but thought $70 was a bit excessive.

I found a $12 ignition switch with key at the auto part store that I was going to put hidden under the seat..but then the wife doesn't want a 2nd key on the cart,

she said she found one on ebay for $10 that someone she knows used on an old ez go cart... told her to have fun installing it.. make sure its the same size through hole as the existing one.. and not to call me when she can't get it to work....

I got the key switch assembly today and it works (plug n play).

I wanted to make sure it worked before I posted the part number. But my Gas 2015 is a 3 phase off/on/on+lights.

Anyway here you go ($29):

JU6-H2510-01-00 MAIN SWITCH 3-WAY(MU (Yamaha Motor)

thanks for the part number, are the 2015 already set up with the 3phase for lights?

I want to set my 2011 gas up with the lights going through the key if possible,

if not having a different key will keep the wife happy for now...

Yes, the 2015 has a 4-Pin Connector to the back harness of the ignition. Not sure about the 2011.

Take a look at the plug going to the ignition.

If its not the 4 Pin...I can't imagine it being that complex to splice the head/taillight
wires to connect to the 4 Pin off/on/onlights ignition switch

If you are just tryin to keep the wife happy with a key and not for headlights....this may apply:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/OEM-Yamaha-G...:X:RTQ:US:1123

just verify gas/electric I think it might make a difference...they are much cheaper elsewhere though.
