Default 84 EZGO Marathon Questions

Hey All,

So I posted in the newbie section a while ago and have been busy ever since.

I have a few questions cause I simply do not know anything about my cart. I got it as part of a deal when I got my camper. Its fine just need some minor things.

1. The brakes aren't to good. I think the cables are just stretched out. Does that sound like its possible?

2. What are some maintenance things I need to go over. Like I said the cart runs good, but I just want to make sure it stays that way.

Keep Seafoam in your gas.

If it still has the oil injector, get rid of it, and mix your gas 128:1.
1 ounce of oil per gallon of gas.

It's a 2 stoke, so there is no crankcase oil, and no valves to worry about.

The drive belt should be 1 3/16' wide. Less than 1 inch is total junk.

This manual will work for you.

Thanks for the manual. it still has the oil injector. Whats the reason to get rid of it for? Seems to be ok. The guy who had it before took good care of it for the most part. Seems to run good. Needs brakes or an adjustment but that seems to be about it.

Like Cart Around said, if it has an Oil Injector get rid of it as they are known to fail as I found out the hard way. Mine was not working and it toasted the engine which I've had to rebuild.

Thanks. What you see is how I got it. I was thinking of doing something different with the color. Just not sure yet. I took it over over the winter time and did absolutely nothing to it. LoL I had all these plans but never started anything. It could use an overhaul. The shocks and stuff are a little beat up. Tires of course too. Hoping to get through this camping season and then this winter I'll work on it. The tires need to come soon. Not sure how long they are going to last. But I need truck tires first. Why do things have to be so expensive.
