Default Anyone know how to disassemble this clutch?

With the help of a couple members here I have established that this is the clutch I have. Now I would like to determine exactly how it comes apart so I can save some time. Here are two pics that will help.

It's been years but I believe there is a C clip in the end shown in pic #2 You may have to compress the unit in a large vise to relieve pressure to remove the clip .. not sure on that. Here's a couple a pics from a gas manual that should help.

Hard to tell if the clip is there from your top photo, but I concur with ScottyB.

C Clip is held under compression in a groove at the top of the shaft.

Easiest to use some type of clamp or vise that will compress the cup and allow you to pull the c clip with ring pliers.

I just disassembled one on 99 TXT and found that the cup had corroded enough that when the clip was removed the spring pressure was not enough to push it off the shaft. It took two days of penetrating oil, propane heat and hammer tapping to finally get off.

This youtube video was quite helpful for me:

I took it off and took it to Auto Zone, we used a puller and that didn't work. Then I took it to a guy who used to race snowmobiles. He says the helix screws off the shaft once the set screw is out. I'm off to see if I can verify that.

I'm pretty certain that you remove the set screw then press it apart. You can shim the spring some to increase the low end for a slower up shift and faster back shift.

Had one and I think that is right. Also it had a flat spring and no clocking required.
