Do you have power coming out of the solenoid when it clicks?
Check the contacts on your fwd-rev switch. |

No power out of solenoid is intermittent run sometimes not other like I said that is why I put new solenoid in thought was bad no power at f-w switch looks like motor is fed directly from solenoid

Motor is fed through the f/r switch. From solenoid to f/r selector then out to starter/gen.

Re: 84 ezgo 2 pg soleniod clicks but starter motordoes not spin
An 84 should only have one microswitch on the FnR switch. Its only purpose is the backup buzzer. Its location is the driver's side of the FnR switch. Newer carts have a second microswitch on the passenger side. It's called the neutral safety switch.
The activation circuit gets power from the large lug of the solenoid that is connected to the battery. There is a small wire that goes to a fuse, the key switch, pedal microswitch, and then to the small terminal of the solenoid. If your solenoid is clicking, the activation circuit is working. Load test your battery. Put a meter on the battery terminals. You should see around 12.7 volts. Then step on the pedal to see what the voltage drop is. Normal is around a 1 volt drop. If it drops to 9.6 volts or less, the battery failed the load test. |
