One more wheel offset question

Please chime in. Make sure I've got this correct. I'm looking at a set of 12X7 wheels with a 3+4 offset. To me this means the wheel has 1 inch negative offset. 3 inches from the back of the wheel to the hub mounting surface, and 4 inches from the hub mounting surface to the front of the wheel. Stock 8 inch wheels are 4+4 or zero offset....Correct?

Stock wheels are zero off-set but they're not 8 inches wide. I believe they're 6 inches wide.
