They are off when the parking brake is set... otherwise they are always on - pressing the brake or not they are still on.

The micro switch under the cart should look something like this....

I agree with you, I don't see one under the cart. That may be why the brake lights stay on all the time. There needs to be a switch under there to break the circuit when the pedal is released.

I think I can probably round one up. Call me in the morning before noon. We've got a hurricane coming through. We're supposed to get 7" of rain and we may or may not have power.

Every Precedent light kit should have a timer with the exception of the factory light kit on a Gen2 Pedal. Can you take some pictures of the brake light module and wiring under the floormat for your brake lights? I'll point you in the right direction once I see what we're dealing with.

You have a pressure switch not a mechanical switch. Take,off the rubber cover of the pedal and I bet you see the mechanical switch that is being depressed or malfunctioning.
At least that's what it looks like to me.
