Default can't figure out club cart d85 wiring

I put a 6inch jakes lift on my 85 club cart along with 23 inch wheels. It had old 6 gauge wires and they were getting hot. A friend suggested putting 1/0 wires on it so I replaced everything along with a bad solenoid. Now when I turn on the key if the cart is in forward it instantly smokes the forward reverse switch. I've looked at a million diagrams and can't figure it out. My motor has 4 vertical online posts, my forward reverse switch has two prongs out the bottom and one out the passenger side. Can anyone tell me what should go to where? Also which post the wires from the one additional solenoid should go to?

I'm not up on your model cart, but it sounds like somehow the wiring has got crossed.

There are a lot of threads about the 5 solenoid system, this should get you started:

That actual helps a lot! Now I do have the little switch on the dash that you pull out that activates the 6th solenoid that's mounted above the resisted coils on the passage side. What two posts on the motor should those be hooked to?

That is a tricky one to answer, I assume You may be referring to a "Field Weakening", aka: "Field-shunt", aka: "Go Fast button"?

If so it goes between S1 and S2.

At the very least the +36v power for that "pull-out" switch should be coming from the Solenoid #5 (passenger side one) +36v activation wire on the small post.

You have to make sure You don't accidentally activate that solenoid if the cart is on a torque condition, like accelerating or going up a hill, or Your motor will quickly overheat.
