I see some good news here. PQ06 is a 2006 IQ cart. IQ is important to know when talking speed upgrades. Also 8v batteries. A lot of these were 12v battery carts. The 8v are better in general. Higher capacity and longer service life.
On my Crown batteries the date code is the seventh and eighth character. That would be J1(Nov 20011) on yours. So 5 years and some abuse at least at the end. Plan on replacing them. If you don't know about golf cart batteries, ask here before you buy them.

Really nice looking cart for it's age I think. Lots of potential here.

The battery watering systems are controversial on this forum. I would vote no but that is just my opinion.

After you replace your batteries as suggested I would then install a speed magnet. This would get rid of the software speed controls. Then reevaluate your situation perhaps then you might decide to upgrade either motor, controller or both. Don't get the cheap magnet from places like E-Bay. Go with a reputable dealer like Revolution Golf

Ok thanks guys batteries are my next investigation. I'll search this site first. I look forward to have my cart up and running like yours soon.
