PeterO
Hi all
dose anyone have info on the carb fitted to the EZGO RXV with the Kawaski engine. It constantly back fires and runs rough. It has been into the garage and all checked out. (valves adjusted, carb off and cleaned but still the same) While looking for a replacement carb I spoke to a guy who said he remembered someone telling him there was a fault with some of these carbs but didn't know what it was. These carbs are very expensive so if anyone g can help it would be appreciated. |

Is it back firing through the exhaust or intake.

Re: PeterO
Exhaust side sounds like a fuel issue to me.

Re: PeterO
have read that the inlet butterfly should not move before the micro switch clicks. If this is happening would it cause the backfire.

Re: PeterO
definitely, especially after decel and then hitting the pedal again - if the butterfly is still open as the cart is rolling *without* the ignition engaged, it will continue to dump fuel into an engine without spark, when the pedal is pressed again and the spark kicks in *BANG* that excess fuel ignites, causing a backfire. Poor adjustment or a worn return spring can cause that, get it set up so that the micro *just* clicks before the carb arm moves and see if that solves the problem, also make sure that the carb is closing ALL the way when the pedal isn't being pushed, poor adjustment (again or a worn spring) can cause the carb to not shut completely, giving You the same problem
