I put it on the charger at night and remove it in the morning. I know the charger starts and its always off when I remove it but I've never timed it to see how long it stays on. Beginning to think the charger may be at fault. How can I verify the charger is working correctly?
Greeper, those batteries are March '16 and manufactured at the Augusta plant. So as you stated, they are less than 1.5 years.

A couple of problems, your charger is working correctly (at least as you described is correct) and those batteries are the same as mine, except mine are June '10 making them 7+ years old and I still hold mid to upper 50.x volts 12 hours after charging. The reason is I take meticulous care of mine. There is an old saying with cart batteries, its called "Play & Plug" meaning if you move it any distance, plug it back in. It should always be on the charger unless you have a reason not too. If you do not use it, it will cycle every ~15 days to top off your charge. Now if you use it, for any amount if time, your OBC monitors the energy used and precisely (as precise as that is) places back just that amount. The reason is to always keep the batteries topped off and ready to go. Most importantly, it prevents the batteries from deteriorating the membrane, plates, etc. due to corrosion when the electrolyte gets low and/or sulfate starts to form. Sulfate is the #1 reason for premature battery failure and the biggest way to combat it is to maintain a full charge all the time.

If you do not use it for a few days and you know you are going to on that particular day, go out and unplug it for a minute and then plug it back in so the pack charge is at the top and ready when you jump on. As soon as you get back or stop for a while, plug it back in. (If it goes for a while between charges, you can buy a little trickle charger)

We need to test each of your batteries and see if one is a culprit or if they are all just low.

Is the cart fully charged right now? If so, test each battery and post up the voltages.

NoleFan4Ever, I plugged it in an hour ago and will leave it till morning. Cart is usually only driven on weekends around the property. Wife takes it to go to the mailbox about 1/4 mile down the driveway and she also uses it when she goes to feed the chickens. When the grandkids come over they ride it some too. Like I said mostly just on the weekends. I bought it used at a CC dealer and he installed fresh batteries before I got it so I hope he used the correct batteries. The charger is pretty beatup looking but I'll start keeping it plugged in from now on if that's all that's wrong with it. I'll let you know in the morning what the results are. I appreciate all your help and advice.

One thing you can do that might help is to reset the obc, just put cart in tow and unhook the main negative battery cable for about ten minutes. Then hook it back up this will give the obc a reboot and it may charge the batteries better. Once charged unhook charger and plug it back in to give the batteries a good top off.

Sounds good!

And like mrgolf said, when this is all done, you do want to reset the OBC so it can restart and reconfigure the usage algorithm.

And PLEASE tell Mrs. Greeper to plug it in each time she parks it and she will be assured the longest possible life from those batteries....

Good news and bad news. Good news is the batteries charged up to 51.8v. Bad news is the problem still exists. With the voltmeter attached, pack shows 51.8 volts, then after heading up our inclined driveway at 49.3 volts the cart stalled. I tried a few times with the same results. I took it down the road and it does not do it. Something else I just noticed taking it down the road, it only has half the speed it had before. Now it runs very slow. What should I look for next? Thanks!

I unplugged the speed sensor and that didn't change anything. I believe I have a bad speed sensor. What do you think?

Sounds like your speed sensor might be going out and/or the MCOR is acting up.

One way to check the MCOR is with the key off, depress the pedal up and down 25-30 times real quick and then test it out. If it runs full speed again it is going out and needs to be replaced. Revolution Golf Cars - David Hicks (site sponsor) has them.

Try resetting your OBC tonight before this next charge just to allow everything to recalculate and learn energy usage.

I just ordered a speed sensor from Revolution Golf Cars. I'll check the MCOR like you said, Thanks!
