Default Best way to remove stuck dirt from aluminum frame?

I'm working on a golf cart that has sat a long time. I have the body off and I pressure washed the frame.

But it looks like there is dirt that is stuck to the frame that won't pressure wash off.

Is there a trick or a chemical to get it off besides sanding?

https://www.eagleone.com/etching-mag-wheel-cleaner

Wet floor, spray it on frame, agitate frame with finest Scotch-Brite pad you can find.

Rinse and smile.

Thanks for the reply. Etching wheel cleaner sounds like it would work. I never would have thought of it. Thanks.

No problem. My Precedent frame looks brand spanking new after using this process. It looked terrible from golf course fertilizer corrosion and dirt.

Jeffreynmandy,
I hope that process works for you. I did the same thing on my 2008 DS frame with great results.

When it came time to do the 1973 Caroche frame, the Eagle 1 didn't touch it, it had spent it's life near salt water, and was a mess.

What I used were wire wheels and sanders, to get off all the dirt and salt deposits, and corrosion.

After that I did the Eagle one and it etched it all to a pretty even color. It was so much work, I decided to give it a few coats of clear, hoping it will last awhile.

Good luck, and post some pictures when you can.

Here's a before pic of the rear. I hope to work on it in the next couple days.

+1 for the etching mag wheels cleaner. That stuff works great. Buy 2 bottles take it from my experience 1 bottle wont do the whole frame. Also make sure that you get good foam coverage when you spray it on. I have noticed that where ever the foam sits it cleans the best. Where gloves. Oh and it will turn your grass brown if you care about that just a heads up.

Jeffreynmandy,
Yes sir, that is almost as bad as mine was when I started, and it looks like salt air corrosion to me.

Check the attached pictures for my before and after.

I don't know why but the Eagle 1 etching mag wheel cleaner wouldn't touch that dirt/corrosion.

I went over the whole frame with a wire wheel in a drill, and then the Eagle 1 worked great to give it a nice etched finish.

When we were cleaning aluminum trailers and dump trucks we used a ZEP acid cleaner. Was available at better prices and larger containers. Think gallons.
