Default Can you guess the controller

2004 stock controller , it has no name on it ,36volt has the B+ B- and 4 small gauge wires...red to 1,black to 2,white to 3 and orang is off by itself between B+ and A2.....any ideas

It sounds like a stock Ezgo HD 400a version. Made by Curtis. The bottom (facing the ground) that you can't see has the label.

Thanks I'll see if I can climb under it to see the label.....would have made more sense to put it where you can see it.....smh

It is so close to the bottom of the compartment, a mirror won't help either...

Just finished working on one with the same connections, not sure about the footprint, but mine was a Curtis 1205.

On mine, the red wire is the key switch signal input, the white is ground (to negative battery), the black is accelerator signal input. The orange wire is optinal and has something to do with the reverse (I stopped reading when I saw the word optional).

I also discovered that Some of the 1205's have the A2 terminal and some do not. Some carts connect A2 from the motor straight to the F/R switch, others connect A2 to the controller and then connect another wire from the SAME terminal to the F/R switch.

Again, this is just on my controller, someone with more experience may need to confirm or correct this post as it relates to your controller.

Solid metal panel in the way. I would bet a dollar it's the stock HD 400a Curtis model.
