Default Fuel vapor canister

I have a 2014 TXT and while driving I smell fuel. It has a fuel vapor canister that is plumed from the top of the fuel tank to the intake tube just past the air filter. Is it possible that it is causing the engine to run rich? I would like to remove it if it is and also because I could use the realastate for a horn install. Thoughts?
