Re: Gas G9 Electrical Starting issue
New to the group. Have a g1 2 stroke and and a g9 4 stroke. The g9 is doing the same thing. I have no voltage at the switch, him the solenoid and the engine turns over but no spark from spark plug? Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Gas G9 Electrical Starting issue
The G9 has power to the key, then to the pedal switch, then it splits to the coil/ignitor/start solenoid. Test those spots back to battery ground. If you have power and still a problem you may have a bad ground on something. The engine/gen are grounded everything else is usually wired back to battery and those ground wires are subject to faults as well.

Re: Gas G9 Electrical Starting issue
It has to. Power goes to key first and must pass key (key on) then pedal switch on, only then can it start and run. There is only hot wire. (G9)

Re: Gas G9 Electrical Starting issue
I think that stuff is wired off the generator, the other end of the battery cables. The small connections on the solenoid like to go bad also.

Re: Gas G9 Electrical Starting issue
On G9 its the white/red wire, it will go hot on all three when key and pedal are on. If so it is working properly. Then it may be a ground or bad part.

Re: Gas G9 Electrical Starting issue
Posted on another thread but it was a grounding issue. Motor wasn't grounded. Grounded the motor. Nothing had to run another jumper ground to key switchSent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using Tapatalk
