Best rearview mirror for an 86 DS

I'd like to use one like that, but my roof supports aren't built like that. Mine go up and then straight back. Plus the front of the roof is 2-3 inches in front of the lip of the windshield.

I'm thinking this is why the 5 mirror strip is prevalent and popular with the older DS's. Maybe?

Anyway, THANK YOU to all who responded. It got me thinking outside the box. We'll see how creative I can get...

Personally, I like the flat mirrors rather than the convex ones. The convex ones always make everything look too far away and can make you think that you've got more room than you actually have.

The five segment ones sound good because I think that each segment is flat but angled from the adjoining segment. This gives you a wide angle view without the distance distortion of the convex mirror.

That's good. Your earlier pictures made it look like it was convex. Some of the "wide-angle" ones are convex. I'm just sayin' that I don't like the convex ones but prefer the flat.

you can get the flat mirrors and convex.

have done dozens 5 panels & convex mirrors .. a few flat mirrors

one lighted mirror off a GM car



just liquid nailed up a plastic plate to roof and gorilla glued the mount.. ran wires inside windshield rails

The five panel (wink) mirror has worked great for me.

he does not want side mirrors

the ones on my jeep fold when i hit them on trees.....

They are "side" mirrors but they don't stick out. They are just inside the outside of the tires so do not make the cart any wider overall.
