Default Issue with 1992 G9 parking brake

I have a 1992 Yamaha G9 and have an issue with the parking brake. It activates and locks my brake anytime I push on the brake. I took the matt off but don't know really anything about golf carts. I'm new to this world. Lol. I have searched online but can't find anything about how the parking brake is supposed to be assembled. I can see that the rod that holds the parking brake up until you press the lever is hanging loose and when I put it back on the latch it comes off after I release the parking brake the first time. When I took the floorboard off I found a few random pieces laying in a nook on the frame. A small spring, a metal hook, and a washer. Looking at those pieces and others near the brake I assume that these pieces are why my brakes won't work properly. Any idea where I can look or how I need to hook up the parking brake?

I just replaced the return spring on my G2 last night because it was broken. brakes worked fine, but you'd have to pull the pedal back up with your hands lol. Next time I go outside I'll pull the floor board and drop a couple pictures for you here to give you an idea of where everything is supposed to go.
