Default G2 gas... no 12v power anywhere

I know these things operate a little different than a traditional 12v system like you would find on a car...

But in trying to diagnose another issue, I’ve found that there is no power anywhere.

I get proper voltage at the battery and at where the battery cables terminate at the starter and the solenoid...

But nowhere else. Not at the switch, not at any other connector.... fuses look good.

I have to be missing something here.

I have continuity at the switch when turned on and the pedal switch..... but there doesn’t seem to be power flowing ANYWHERE outside of the battery cables.

With a good battery and the key ON... where should I have 12v on my meter?

Starting from the battery, where is the first place power flows that could fail?

There should be a fuse on the battery wire in the main harness. I'd bet its blown. Follow the harness and you'll find it, I think its around 12" or so from the battery if memory serves me correctly.

The way to trace down an electrical issue:

Start with a good quality voltmeter with sharp testing leads/needles.

Starting at the point where you know you have power, poke the positive wire every 12", keeping a good known ground (battery).

If you do this properly, you'll find the point at which the wire is not hot.

Inspect the wire carefully for damage. Repair/replace as needed.

Hopefully it's a fuse as mentioned.

Quicker method, but basically what you're referencing is called the "split-half method". Look at the diagram and check voltage at start and end point on the circuit. Then find a connector halfway through the circuit and check there. If good check half way between there and the end. If not, check half way between that middle point and the starting point.

Lather, rinse, repeat until you've located the source. Saves a lot of time chunking it on half like that.

But I'm thinking theres just a fuse they didnt know was there

Do you not have 12 volts positive or 12 volts negative? On G2's you have positive and negative fuses, check both. On G2's, the main positive comes off the positive battery cable at the solenoid, the a short wire to the wire harness. Can't tell you how many times I saw the connection go bad. Good luck.

Both fuses are intact... only fuses I see and only ones shown in diagram.

No voltage at the connections either
