Re: All batteries test 6.3V or better, but cart loses power quickly
Date code on Batteries is '05. Guy said he bought them in '06 and religiously maintained them. I took it around the block and it had good power.
New to buggies I didn't know any better. Maybe I missed the thread..."What to look for when buying a used cart". |

First lesson: Always charge the batteries after any use, even going to the mailbox, and charge them if left setting for more than a few weeks. FLA batteries should be kept 100% charged at all times. |

After buying new batteries, you still have a great deal on a cart

Re: All batteries test 6.3V or better, but cart loses power quickly
well i have worked at columbia par car for 11 years. I have work with allot of electric cars the battery with the 2.7 volts is definatly bad and they say if you just replace the one that the others will draw the power from the new one so i recommend replacing all. If anyone has a 1982 gas 2 cycle ezgo i need a picture of the engine thanks

With a cart that age you may want to look at a set of refurbished/reman batteries. I've bought 2 sets of these from my local golf course and have had really good luck with them for around 300 a set.

Re: All batteries test 6.3V or better, but cart loses power quickly
Looking at your pictures you drew, if I had very limited funds (like most of us do after we start working on a toy), I'd replace the one lower voltage battery (upper left corner). Find a decent used one though, don't put in a new battery with 5 used ones. Then equalize the pack again and you might be able to buy some time at least until next year on the ones you have.

You can pick up a 100 amp discharge tester from your local auto part store for around $50. Just verify it reads 6v batteries.
