Belt Shopping
I need a new belt. I've been looking at the sponsor sites here and now I have a problem. I was given choices...
I see you guys talking about shorter belts, and I see that there are $28, $35, $56 belts I can buy. The shorter belt does what? How much shorter? Which belt would last longer? Does "More Expensive" mean better in this case? '96 Workhorse 1200 |

Re: Belt Shopping
I don't know about prices but I would stick with the ezgo brand. I think the shorter belt for yours would be the ezgo #1351 belt, shorter belts run further down in the clutch, changing the ratio between the front and rear pulleys, hence more lower end torque.

Re: Belt Shopping
You're seeing different prices because there are many differenrt belts! Your Workhorse should get the severe duty belt offered by OEM. A standarfd belt for the TXT will also work. I've never been a fan of a shorther belt - unless you are compensating for bad clutches or wore out motor...

Re: Belt Shopping
Belt choice is up to you. Factory recommends the severe duty belt - but it's the most expensive...

Re: Belt Shopping
I kinda sort of pull heavier loads then what EZGO had in mind. If the engine revs up, then we go... usually it goes.

Re: Belt Shopping
New severe duty belt installed. Thanks to Mike's Motor Toys. I hooked it to a trailer that had a 2,700lb rough mower on it (for golf courses) and it took off with no burning belt smell.. :) Thanks alot Mike and the super fast delivery was impressive.
