Default New Guy

Just bought a 03 ezgo txt with 04 batteries. Got a good deal but need new batteries. I found a place that will sell me T-105 for $90, installed. A guy in the shop is telling me that I need to replace the solenoid because I am putting 4ga. welding cable on the cart. He says they will burn up the current one. Does this make sense

Not sure why he would be saying that????

There are plenty of folks on here, including myself, that are running 36V, stock controller, solenoid, and F&R switch without ant issues...

Lightbulb Re: New Guy

I have been reading several posts about the 4ga. welding wire and no one said anything about replacing their solenoid so I felt like he was trying to sell me something that I didn't need. Thanks for the info and quick response.

He's full of it, I went to 4 ga wires with stock controller, f/r switch and solinoid, and a 4hp motor and no problems.

I upgraded my wire without changing the solenoid or F&R switch and have had NO issues! What was he wanting to sell you?

He was trying to tell me that I had to buy a heavy duty solenoid but I found out when I went back that he didn't even work at the shop! He was one of the employee's friends and he hung around a lot. The owner of the shop is a good guy and basically blew him off.

Thats good. Thats also one hellava deal on those batts. I have not replaced any solenoids due to replacing batts and cables. I have not had any problems with it either.
