85 DS - decent cart?
Just bought it for $150. Looks complete. Been sitting. I presume this is a resistor cart with the coils behind the batteries. Is this a good cart to build? Have only messed with ezgo carts, 48 conversion on mine. Any routes I should take or avoid?

Re: 85 DS - decent cart?
It's a stock complete cart in good shape. Clean slate...... Thinking 48 volts from what I've read on other posts. Lost on the resistor stuff, been surfing...

Re: 85 DS - decent cart?
yes you can upgrade but you,ll need to get rid of the resistors and the V-glide......150.00 yes is a good price cause to upgrade to 48 volts your gonna have a few grand in it but when your done your done.......................

Re: 85 DS - decent cart?
Hate to ask but what is the v glide? I presume its the box of micros aft of the accelerator. I can use my axe 4844 from my other cart since I'm wanting to go bigger. Cart came with no charger so 48 would be the way to go. Got on of Scottyb's onboard setups on the ezgo. I see people using a pb-6.... Lots of reading to do....

Re: 85 DS - decent cart?
I'll have to check tonight. What's the ideal mounting place for the controller? Does the 48 conversion work best with the added batteries in the bagwell?

Re: 85 DS - decent cart?
ok you have a multi soleniod cart with 5 microswitches ( in the silver box ) same deal you,ll have to get rid of all that......you can mount the controller behind the batteries above the motor theres a brace that goes across it might have holes in it already and the potbox will go almost where the silver box is now.............locations can vary a bit and yes if your gonna do it go to 48 volts you,ll be a lot happier........if you talk to scotty he,ll have just about everything you,ll need including some good directions.......................
